Logan Paul For Rookie of the Year? MJF & Zac Efron Co-Star in Von Erich Movie and More Wrestling News + Gossip

WWE Crown Jewel was this past weekend and the big story coming out of the show is just how impressive Logan Paul looked in his third professional wrestling match ever. The guy is absolutely a natural.

Not many people could handle the pressure of main eventing a show in their third match and delivering the performance that the social media star showed to the WWE Universe. He did epic frog splashes, standing moonsaults, the buckshot lariat, and sold a beating like a champ.

Roman Reigns made him look like a worthy contender but in the end, Reigns retained the belt. Here are some highlights:

Logan Paul gave it his all, injuring his ACL and possibly his MCL in the process, which means we won't see him back in the ring for another six months. But, as a very cynical wrestling fan, I tip my cap to Logan Paul.

If you haven't seen Crown Jewel, I would recommend this match, the two women's matches and Brock vs. Lashley, which was everything I wanted.

MJF Joins Zac Efron in the Von Erich Movie

The A24 featured film, The Iron Claw, based on the story of the legendary Von Erich brothers now has added an AEW wrestler to its cast.

Future AEW world champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been cast as Lance Von Erich, playing opposite Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich, the sole living member of the family. MJF is expected off the AEW live dates until next Saturday, although he will have a segment air tomorrow, likely a pre-tape, since he's shooting the movie.

Directed by “Martha Marcy May Marlene” director Sean Durkin, “The Iron Claw” will also star Jeremy Allen White as Kerry, Harris Dickinson as David, and Maura Tierney and Holt McCallany as Doris and Fritz Von Erich.

Deadline describes the movie as "based on a true story, The Iron Claw follows the rise and fall of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day."

What happened on Raw?

This was easily the best thing on Raw this week:

Also, the Club finally debuted their insurance policy to take care of Rhea Ripley, the returning Mia Yim.

In the most perplexing segment on the show, Seth Rollins offered an open challenge for his US title. Bobby Lashley went to answer the challenge, but instead of waiting for the bell to ring, he just badly attacked Rollins. Seeing Rollins down, all of the sudden Austin Theory appeared and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract! It's the first time the contract was cashed in for a non-world championship. And what happened? Lashley came back, beat Austin's ass and then Rollins won the match. Austin Theory becomes the fifth person in history to unsuccessfully cash in his contract. It was very perplexing booking.
