Like most of us during 2020, the tandem of drummer/vocalist John Hoffman and guitarist Adam Tomlinson found themselves in dire need of a creative outlet and likely, some productive means of stress relive given the complete shitshow the world was in.

With a collective resume that included beloved underground heroes like Weekend Nachos, Sick/Tired and Sea of Shit, the two ultimately came together to assemble an assaultive stylistic amalgam under the name, Stomach. Fusing a vile meld of sludge, noise and powerviolence into one combustive molotov, the pair put out a couple of demos en route to fleshing out enough music to debut their first LP.

The result is Parasite, an eight-track presentation of vitriol and venom soundtrack by the band’s brand of sludge, doom, and corrosive damnation. Parasite was recorded at The Pit II, Geneva, Illinois in the Fall of 2022, and was mixed and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios.

The album is set for an October 20th release via Hibernation Release and marks the arrival of the Chicago duo in an especially emphatic way.

Ahead of the album’s debut, Stomach have shared a preview their punishing brand with the hellacious eight-minute slow burn with “Midnight In Pain”. Capturing agony on audio, Stomach explain how the track intends to convey a sense of torment that has become all too familiar.

Drummer/vocalisty John Hoffman shares,. “I woke up at 12:30 AM one evening and stumbled to the sink, spitting out just a tiny bit of blood for some unknown reason. I looked in the mirror and hated who I was. Sometimes, that’s just how it goes. You can’t always explain misery – it just exists.”

Parasite will be available October 20th via Hibernation Release. Pre orders for the vinyl release are currently available – HERE and Bandcamp – HERE.
