Watch the historically accurate teaser ahead of the August 26th reveal.

The latest in the Call of Duty franchise has been revealed from Activision after an extensive rollout.

The title follows the successful entries from the franchise in 2019’s Modern Warfare and the recent mega-success, Warzone. The announcement also marks the first return to the Black Ops incarnation since the 2018 release of Black Ops IV.

The recent teaser trailer of the Cold War installment of Call of Duty Black Ops showcases a documentary-esque historical context in the storyline of the game. Set during the nuclear conflict of the 20th Century between the United States and the Soviet Union.

Right now most of the information around the title involves speculation as there have been no additional details released other than the teaser trailer. The complete unveil is set for August 26th and will come via Warzone, marking the first time a Call of Duty game has been revealed in an existing ARG title.

The teaser trailer below makes references to Perseus, the code name of an alleged Soviet spy, and Soviet journalist and KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov.
