Legacy of the Beast, Iron Maiden's free-to-play mobile game has announced the third partnership with another of metal music's most in-demand artists.
Previously, the game featured unique experiences with both Amon Amarth and Lacuna Coil. Now, LotB is launching the Mascarade Diabolique event which features the merging of Iron Maiden's unique universe and the dark lore of Ghost. Taking inspirational cues from Iron Maiden’s 2003 album 'Dance of Death' and the visual for Ghost’s 2018 song, "Dance Macabre," the game's central character Eddie is joined by Papa Emeritus IV for a mysterious party in Transylvania - a storyline sourced from "Dance Macabre" and in reference to the first Maiden instrumental track on their debut album.
Eventually finding themselves pitted against an evil, controlling force, both Papa Emeritus IV and Eddie must fight for their own survival while encountering formidable foes including hordes of mind-controlled revelers and even Cardinal Immortus - an evil clone of Papa Emeritus himself.
The RPG continues to serve as a unique, innovative platform that bridges the worlds of heavy music and gaming. Ghost architect Tobias Forge spoke about the opportunity to merge the expansive worlds of Ghost with the vast lexicon of Iron Maiden. Papa Emeritus IV makes his Legacy of the Beast debut Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 at 5pm PT. Players can earn the Papa Emeritus IV character for FREE starting October 13th by logging in a total of 7 days to receive Papa Emeritus IV on the final day. The Mascarade Diabolique in-game expansion ends November 12th, 4 PM PT.
