Cavalera release new visual for the re-recorded edition of "Bestial Devastation"

Max and Iggor revisit the intensity of their 1985 introduction with a new lyric video showcasing classic brutality.

Earlier this year, metal legends Max and Iggor Cavalera confirmed plans to re-record two of their most enduring efforts, updating both their 1985 EP introduction Bestial Devastation and Sepultura's debut LP, Morbid Visions.

Entrusting collaborator Arthur Rizk to helm the final mix and master, along with venerated artist Eliran Kantor to craft the artwork for both releases, the endeavor reiterates the longevity of two of metal music's most respected contributors.

Speaking of the July 14th release via Nuclear Blast Records, Max Cavalera shared the importance of the project. "As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW, but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

To preview the refreshed edition of the metal classics, Cavalera have shared a new lyric video for the title track of the 1985 EP. As menacing and merciless as the original, the 2023 edition the track offers modernized sound for a track that was built with the metallic durability to hold up after nearly four decades in existence.

Iggor also weighed in on why this is such a significant moment in the brothers’ respective careers. “I always felt like the recordings of our earlier work didn’t do justice to the way we performed the songs. So, this is a very special moment in our lives that we are very proud to show you real fans our true representation of the amazing records Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with an insane visual identity…enjoy and see you all in the pit.”

The 2023 editions of both Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions arrive July 14th on Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-order the albums - HERE

In addition to the news of the rerecording of such influential works, Cavalera are preparing to embark on a comprehensive US tour spanning some 40-dates, including headlining plays and festival appearances across the country. For Cavalera’s club and theater headliners, the band will be joined by gore metal vets Exhumed and desert-based destructors Incite on the Morbid Devastation Tour.
