COREY TAYLOR REVEALS COMMANDING, CATHARTIC SECOND SINGLE, “POST TRAUMATIC BLUES”

Stream the latest preview from ‘CMF2’ and get the details on Taylor’s extensive touring run which includes a US headliner and newly confirmed EU/UK dates.

This spring, multi-hyphenate and heavy culture champion Corey Taylor began his sophomore campaign with the confirmation of his next full length solo effort, CMF2. The eagerly-awaited follow-up to the universally hailed debut in CMFT, Taylor’s latest presentation was ceremoniously unveiled with the emphatic introduction of the rousing rock anthem, “Beyond“.

In the weeks since the arrival of the single, “Beyond” has resonated strong with Taylor’s most devoted, positioned firmly in the Top 15 at Rock Radio, the entry also landed the cover and coveted #1 on Spotify’s Rock Hard playlist.
Adding to the significance of the release due out September 15th, the pivotal follow up to the acclaimed debut of 2020’s CMFT will also serve as the inaugural release via Taylor’s own label, Decibel Cooper.
Teaming with producer Jay Ruston who previously worked with Taylor on both Stone Sour’s Hydrograd as well as the CMFT debut, the second installment of the series finds Taylor leveling up his artistry both as a frontman and a seasoned songwriter. Singing, playing both lead and rhythm guitar, as well as piano and mandolin, CMF2 offers testament to the full range of Taylor’s ever-evolving performative prowess.
Taylor spoke to the personal significance of the release. “My first solo album was kind of where I was coming from. This album is more where we’re going.”
Offering yet another example of the creative breadth of the record, Taylor has shared a second single with the reveal of the purgative, powerful “Post Traumatic Blues”. Showcasing a dynamic cadence and all of the intensity synonymous with Taylor’s brand, the track is as convincing as it is commanding.
Speaking to the very real life source material, the frontman explained the therapeutic value exorcized on the track. “‘Post Traumatic Blues’ is my attempt to describe for people what it’s like to deal with PTSD,” says Taylor. “Sometimes it’s so hard for people to understand the ups and downs, the severity of the cold and numbness, that I wanted to try and build a bridge lyrically between the ones living with the disease and the ones who are trying to help them.”
In addition to the latest preview of CMF2, Taylor has confirmed his live return to Europe and the UK later this year in support of the album. This November, Taylor will headline a succession of live dates touching down in the UK, France, Germany and The Netherlands sharing selections from CMF2.
Tickets for the tour go on sale July 14th at 9AM BST / 10AM CET with a pre-sale event beginning July 12th at 9AM BST / 10AM CET.
Taylor has also slated an August 7th appearance at Kingston’s Prizm for a special ‘An Evening With…’ event, in association with Banquet Records. The event will include an exclusive interview with Taylor, hosted by Kerrang! Radio’s Sophie K, as well as an audience Q&A and more surprises yet to be revealed.
