Belgium electronic music pillars Front 242 have confirmed the final shows of their storied four-decade long tenure will take place in 2024 and 2025. The confirmation from the genre gamechangers landed appropriately on International EBM Day.
The band's Blackout run will touch down with confirmed dates in Latin America, the United States and several dates throughout Europe before concluding what has been a hugely influential career. The band's final dates ever will include a finale of back-to-back nights in Brussels on January 24th and 25th - officially closing the book as a live touring act.
“It is with a heavy mix of emotion that we close this great adventure, some 40 years in the making,” shared Front 242's core Patrick, Richard and Lean Juc. “We realize that ending our journey at this time, when we are still vibrant and full of energy is how the band should be remembered. We are excited to share these meaningful final performances with our wonderful fans who have been with us through it all.”
As for Front 242's final domestic U.S. dates, the band will perform at this year's Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas and head up their final headlining dates starting in September. The band will finish out with two consecutive nights at Chicago's famed Metro on November 15th and 16th before heading back to Europe to complete their final live shows ever.
From the band's seminal 1982 debut Geography to foundational albums in the universe of EBM including No Comment (1985), Official Version (1987) and 1988's breakout Front By Front, Front 242 have solidified their rank as electronic music's forefathers - melding industrial and synth into a sound all their own.
