Puck Hcky x Metallica launch their hockey jersey collection

- By Ramon Gonzales

With collaborations ranging from Testament, Lamb of God, Slayer, Ministry, Anthrax, Gojira, Meshuggah, and even Snoop Dogg, the hockey-driven apparel authority has now added Metallica to their roster.

Bridging the world of metal music and hickey one collaboration at a time, PUCK HCKY have become the destination for bands that opt to release a custom hockey jersey. When it comes to having a lynchpin in the merch collection, these jerseys always grab fans' attention and become a collectors' item.

The brand has already solidified a stacked roster of collaborations with the likes of Anthrax, Testament, Lamb of Gob, Meshuggah, Opeth, Gojia, Ministry, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and even Snoop Dogg. Now, the bran has announced one of their heftiest additions to their collaborative roster ever with the news of the new Metallica collection.

In addition to the premium quality Metallica hickey jerseys, the collection includes hoodies, flannels and hats, all tapping band's music and art to complete the aesthetic.

The band does have a unique connection to the world of professional sports, particularly to hockey. For many years, The San Jose Sharks have used the classic "Seek & Destroy" as their arena entrance anthem. In fact, Metallica has performed live before games for the franchise.

"I still can't believe that they picked 'Seek & Destroy', which I love," laughed METALLICA frontman James Hetfield. "1983, what we were writing about then was just… That's all we knew. We're gonna show up, and we're gonna kick some ass. And when we leave here, you're gonna know we were here."

Hetfield continued, " It sets a tone. The sound quality… not the best, but that's all we knew in '83. But I love the fact that someone has taken our song and is still using it like that. And it's synonymous with Sharks hitting the ice, coming out of the mouth, through the teeth, and then the smoke… Very awesome."

Check out the Metallica collection via PUCK HCKY as well as the Metallica store.
