The Weekly Drop 10.08

- By Harris David

Your weekly collection of freshly available sneakers that deserve the hype.

If it seems like there’s a major sneaker release every other day, it’s because that’s exactly what’s happening. Long gone are the days of waking up early on Saturday once a month to see if you scored a hyped release on Nike.com. Sitting there hitting the refresh button over and over again.

With sneakers releasing on any given day of the week we’re going to try and make life a little easier for you. Everything from Nike to Adidas, Converse to Vans, New Balance to Hoka One One and everything in between - if it’s a dope shoe you’ll see it here.

A look into this week’s Sneaker Drops takes us to a galaxy far, far away with a new Star Wars shoe and handful of classics in new makeups. Here is the rundown of what deserves the hype.

Star Wars x adidas ZX 2K Boost "Han Solo"

Release: Oct 9th, 2020 at adidas.com | Price: $170

Adidas has been collaborating with Star Wars since 2010. That year saw the release of some Adidas Originals themed after the Millennium Falcon, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Storm Trooper, Death Star, Tie Fighter, X-Wing, Yoda and of course Darth Vader.

This year’s releases include a C3PO and Boba Fett Top Ten Hi and a crazy looking Chewbacca Rivalry Hi that’s actually covered in fur. But these Han Solo ZX 2K Boosts are the ones that caught our eye.

Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 550

Release: Oct 9th, 2020 at aimeleondore.com | Price: $130

Teddy Santis and his brand Aime Leon Dore have brought back the New Balance 550 basketball silhouette. This collaboration is introducing this model for the first time since their initial release in 1989.

The P550 Basketball Oxfords will come in 4 different color-ways. Each feature a white leather upper with red, green, navy blue, or gray accents. It’s good to see New Balance make a return to basketball.

Air Jordan 4 "PSG"

Release: Oct 10th, 2020 at Nike SNKRS | Price: $190

Jordan Brand is continuing its partnership with the Parisian soccer club, Paris Saint-Germain, for another must have shoe. The partnership already brought us pairs of great looking Jordan 1s and 5s back in 2018. The first two releases were predominately black with red details and as you can see the 4s are sporting a white leather upper with burgundy details.

Air Jordan 3 "Blue Cement"

Release: Oct 10th, 2020 at Nike SNKRS | Price: $190

It wouldn’t be a normal Saturday without a few Jordan Brand releases so excuse us if our top 5 lists lean toward the Jumpman.

The classic Air Jordan 3 is sporting a brand new royal blue colorway. Jordan released a Red Cement color-way during around the NBA All Star game back in February of this year.

Nike SB Blazer High GT Pro “GTP”

Release: Oct 10th, 2020 at Nike.com | Price: approx. $116

Nike SB team skater Grant Taylor drew inspiration for his upcoming SB Blazer High from Nike’s ACG line, specifically the Air Mowabb. Even the tongue logo sees and ACG inspired logo that reads “GTP” and the Nike SB branding.

Unfortunately for folks in the states, this shoe is only confirmed for a Euro release for now, but it’s too good a shoe to be left off the list.
