Deftones have announced the latest in their continued series of collaboration beers with San Diego-based craft brewery Belching Beaver. "Beauty School" takes on the classic pilsner style of beer with what the brewery describes as "refreshing drinkability," referring to the taste as "bright" with a "dry hop regimen of tropical flavors and dank aromas" to ensure maximum crushability.
The limited edition collab arrives as select retailers on February 4th at 11:30am PT. Fans in California can order direct via BelchingBeaver.com while fans in the rest of the US can order 4-packs via CraftShack.com.
The latest entry takes inspirational cues from Deftones' sixth studio album, Diamond Eyes. The 2010 full length effort was the first to feature Sergio Vega as the band's bassist following the tragic passing of Chi Cheng. Regarded as a commercial and critical success, the album was propelled by powerful singles like "Rocket Skates," "You've Seen the Butcher," and the album's title track.
Among the album's deeper cuts that continue to resonate from the Diamond Eyes album include gems like "976-EVIL," "Sextape" and of course, "Beauty School".
As for the classic pilsner release, the beer specs include a 5% ABV with Mosaic hops driving the flavor and aroma. The Dry Hopped Pilsner is available in the following states in the U.S.: AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, NE, NV, MN, OR, TX, WA, WI. Orders will be limited to (2) four-packs per person.
