The legacy of Lemmy Kilmister and that of Motörhead continues to be as ubiquitous as ever with the recent announcement of yet another addition to lexicon of the Loudest Band in the World. All this despite the fact that Lemmy passed back in 2015.
The most recent show of Motörhead's enduring presence comes in the form of an authorized graphic novel in, 'Motörhead: The Rise of the Loudest Band In the World." The collaborative effort with FanToons is an exquisitely-illustrated 144-page work of art that comes complete with a foreword penned by the one and only Rob Halford of Judas Priest.
In a press release announcing the project, the Motörhead team offered nothing but praise for FanToons and their team of contributors. "David and the Fantoons team captured Lem’s spirit and vibe perfectly, not to mention the overall spirit of what the band was all about. Their attention to detail was top notch, the art first class and the proof is in the final piece, which is splendid! Readers are sure to feel the raw grittiness that was the origins of Motörhead in each page."
The graphic novel begins with Lemmy's earliest years, taking the reader back to the rock icon's childhood. The novel culminates with the recording and eventual release of Motörhead's landmark Aces of Spades album.
Motörhead: The Rise of the Loudest Band in the World arrives September 7th via FanToons. The hard cover edition also comes with a limited edition Motörhead decorative cereal box while supplies last. Pre-orders for the novel can be made - HERE. Check the preview pages from the release below.
