Star Wars-themed metal outfit Galactic Empire goes track-by-track for the surprise release of 'Special Edition'

Ahead of the May the Fourth holiday, Knotfest's own Jon Garcia welcomes Lord Sikh to breakdown the fourth full length album of beefed-up entries spanning the Star Wars' cinematic universe.

Following a rollout of intergalactic proportions, the metal outfit hailing from a galaxy far, far away has delivered their fourth full length studio effort with the early arrival of Special Edition from Star Wars-themed collective, Galactic Empire.

Initially set to land May 5th via Pure Noise Records, the Empire's assembly of heavy practitioners has pushed up the project a few days to better coincide with the unofficial Star Wars' global day of recognition, May the Fourth. (Be with you... get it?)

Having already unloaded impactful previews with the release of a handful of singles from the Star Wars cannon including, “The Battle Of Hoth”, “The Imperial Suite”, and “The Mandalorian”, the momentum leading into the arrival Special Edition was at an all time high. To capitalize on that swell, Galactic Empire has opted to launch their assault early and have brought Knotfest along to experience the album with an exclusive track-by-track breakdown.

Joining Jon Garcia, Galactic Empire's own Lord Sikh guested to run through the complete 11-track opus that gives the music of the Star Wars universe the heavy treatment. Including familiar favorites like the theme from "The Bad Batch" and the latest from "The Book of Boba Fett", the commentary gives fans a first-hand account of the soundtrack inspired by the transcendent franchise.

Along with the album release festivities, Galactic Empire will be performing a special livestream concert broadcasting via their Twitch channel on Thursday, May 4th. The performance will be part of a streaming marathon featuring Vincent Bennet of The Acacia Strain, Scott Carstairs of Fallujah, plus viral virtuosos Chainbrain, Thongg Delong, and Nicole Papastavrou. The broadcast will be raising funds for the Make A Wish 501st Legion Fund. Find more information on the effort - HERE

The last time Cigarettes After Sex played a headline show in the UK was in a pre-Covid world, and the extensive queue line full of eager fans outside of Manchester’s O2 Apollo on the first night of the band’s return tour is hard proof of just how much they’ve been missed on these shores.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
