Chicago aggressors VCTMS have officially begun the rollout for their fourth LP, Vol. IV Numb The Ache, and have enlisted Spite frontman Darius Tehrani for some extra muscle.
The introductory track in "Carefully // Caged" delivers sledgehammer heft that seems almost unfathomable when you realize it's a trio responsible for such an onslaught of sound.
The follow up to the band's 2018 effort, Volume II: Halfway Happy, again asserts a volatile delivery, packaged with metalcore groove that appeals to broad range of fans. As a result, VCTMS has been paired alongside of a variety of artists ranging from Veil of Maya to Angelmaker, with the common denominator being the band's fiery performance and relentless aggression.
Apart from polishing their fourth LP, 2020 also saw VCTMS participate in the inaugural Pulse of the Maggots digital festival curated by KNOTFEST. Grouped with international prospects like Orbit Culture, Tallah, Wargasm, and Year of the Knife, the Illinois-trio are regarded among an emerging class of heavy artists that are blurring genre divides, melding subgenres, and pushing the agenda of heavy culture.
