Over the weekend, Ho99o9 took part in the Black Power Live streaming event which showcased a collection of artists ranging from Denzel Curry, Wale, Kamasi Washington, Terence Martin, Twin Shadow, Robert Glasper and many more. The event was hosted by Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors and streamed via Twitch.
Contributing a seating three-song set, Ho99o9 would debut the live performance of their recent single release, balancing the introspective, “Pray or Prey” with the frenzied, “Christopher Dorner.” Performing with Travis Barker, the band would punctuate their set with a punk anthem finishing with their blistering version of Bad Brains’ “Big Takeover.”
Ho99o9 kept the statement simple with their description. "Keep the fight for justice, ending racism & police brutality moving forward in any way possible, every little thing helps. Thank you to everyone who tuned it, 999."
The Black Power Live event was designed to raised funds and awareness for Black Lives Matter organizations including Crenshaw Dairy Mart, Trap Heals, Transgender Law Center, Sankofa and Black Men Build.
