It's been seven long years since Meatwad, Frylock, Master Shake and cranky neighbor Carl graced the screen as the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. After a cult-championed 15 year run, the show wrapped with Aqua Teen Hunger Force Forever in 2015.
Last spring, Adult Swim announced the revival of several of it's beloved properties with feature films for Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Bros., and Metalocalypse all confirmed to begin production. However, it looks as though fans will be getting more ATHF with the unveiling of a new spinoff series called Aquadonk Side Pieces.
The 10-episode digital short series will see a daily release and will live exclusively on the Adult Swim Youtube channel. The limited series was created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis and features the return of fixtures of the show' original run including The Plutonians, the MC Chris played MC Pee Pants, The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future, and the reintroduction of Handbanana which happens in the very first episode of the spinoff.
All ten episodes of Aquadonk Side Pieces will see a daily release at 9:00am PT on the Adult Swim Youtube Channel. The first two episodes are now live and can be seen below. The series is the second of four digital short spinoffs that will stream from Adult Swim. Each of which serve as a precursor to the upcoming feature films that were confirmed last spring.
Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen said during the initial unveiling, “Leveraging the power of WarnerMedia allows us to deliver original content to our amazingly dedicated and not-shy fans, while also giving our talented series creators an opportunity to tell stories in new and interesting ways.”
