Eminem launches NFT collection with a digital event being dubbed 'Shady Con'

The line of NFTs are inspired by Em's affinity for collectibles and even features original instrumentals specific for the 'Rap God'.

The latest artists to dive deep into the world of NFTs is none other than the Real Slim Shady himself. taking inspirational cues from the likes of Comic-Con and other culture specific conventions, Eminem has launched a digital event known as 'Shady Con' in celebration of the unveiling of his series of NFTs currently up for auction. The event is being hosted online by Nifty Gateway.

The collection of NFTs is based on Eminem's life-long infatuation with collecting. From music to toys, comic books to trading cards, Em has long been immersed in the culture, and to better connect his first launch of his NFTs to his personal identity, each token has been crafted with that same individuality in mind.

“I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, everything from comic books to baseball cards to toys, as well as every rap album on cassette I could get my hands on,” Eminem said in a press release. “Not much has changed for me as an adult…I’ve attempted to recreate some of those collections from that time in my life, and I know I’m not alone. I wanted to give this drop the same vibe of, ‘Oh, man I gotta get just that one or maybe even the whole set!’ It’s been a lot of fun coming up with ideas from my own collecting passion.”

The open iterations of the Rap God in NFT form include Eminem, armed with the necessary tools of the stage including his microphone, stage towel and a visor. The Slim Shady version features the menacing Jason Voorhes hockey mask and a accompanying chainsaw. Last, the Marshall Mathers takes it back to 8 Mile and features a walkman, a notepad to scribble down lyrics, and even a famous bowl of Mom's spaghetti.

The NFT collection also boasts an original instrumental beat produced by Eminem himself, "Stan's Revenge". Check it out - HERE
