Making it's world premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival and its International premiere at FrightFest just last month, Hail to the Deadites, continues to gain momentum.
Producers recently unveiled a new trailer and brand new film poster designed by Filip Ivanovic. Earning Bronze in the Audience Award category at Montreal's prestigious Fantasia Film Festival, the documentary has earned critical praise and fan adulation for it's depiction of the community that has galvanized around the franchise.
Hail to the Deadites is set to screen at an impressive collection of film festivals throughout the remainder of the 2020 calendar year, including Sitges international fantastic film Festival, Ramaskrik Film Festival, Midwest Horrorfest, Nightmare Film Festival, and South African Horrorfest.
The film's official description reads, “Inspired by the 1981 classic’s cult following, HAIL TO THE DEADITES is a documentary about the fans of the EVIL DEAD franchise. Through interviews with the cast, crew, collectors, fans, freaks and geeks, HAIL TO THE DEADITES seeks to illuminate the darkest reaches of the EVIL DEAD franchise’s undying and still-growing popularity, a popularity that has spawned four films, a TV series, comic books, figurines, and surpassed even its creator’s wildest dreams. HAIL TO THE DEADITES puts the spotlight on the fans that cultivated and spread this groovy pop-culture infection! It celebrates those who’ve celebrated the films!
In addition to the fan connection with the film, the documentary features interview footage with Evil Dead franchise cast members such as Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Tom Sullivan ,Dan Hicks, Kassie Wesley DePaiva, Sarah Berry, Rick Domeier & Bill Moseley.
