While the hope was that there would be some kind of trailer reveal for the James Gunn adaptation of The Suicide Squad, what was released was the complete cast as well as a detailed behind-the-scenes vignette.
The confirmed cast is as follows. Michael Rooker as Savant, Flula Borg as Javelin, Alice Braga as Solsoria, Nathan Fillion as T.D.K., John Cena as Peacemaker, Peter Capaldi as the Thinker, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Mayling Ng as Mongal, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Sean Gunn and Steve Agee as the voicing Weasel and King Shark.
Referring to this as the biggest film of his career, James Gunn is said to be translating The Suicide Squad as a film version of a graphic crime novel. The sizzle reel offers a glimpse at the semi-terrifying Weasel, a fresh version of Robbie's Harley Quinn, and a look at Pete Davidson, John Cena, and Idris Elba as Bloodsport.
The second installment of the Suicide Squad is aiming to scrub the critical stain left by filmmaker David Ayer, who wrote and directed the first film in the series. Despite grossing $756 million worldwide, the film was panned almost universally.
The Suicide Squad managed to wrap production prior to the Covid shutdown and is said to still be on track for an August 6th, 2021 release date.
