Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to roll out long-anticipated characters and next up to bat is Jennifer Walters, who becomes the powerful She-Hulk after a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner. The nine episode series will premiere on Disney+ this August with the promise of She-Hulk crossing over to the films afterward.
Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) plays the lead role as Walters struggles to juggle her career as a lawyer - specifically one who specializes in superhero-related cases - with her recent big and green transformations, as well as a romantic life. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner as he tries to guide her through her newfound power, along with Benedict Wong who we just saw kick ass in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
But perhaps the most exciting actor to appear in the series is Tim Roth, reprising his role as Emil Blonsky, a soldier who faced off against the Hulk in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Having taken an experimental serum, Blonsky transforms into a Hulk-like monster himself called Abomination. The series will also star Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) as the villainous Titania, a rival to She-Hulk.
The show has been described as a half-hour legal comedy that would be faithful to John Byrne's take on the character from the comics. Jessica Gao created the series and serves as head writer, having previously written for series like Silicon Valley, Rick and Morty, The Mighty B!, and Robot Chicken. Check out the trailer below.
'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' premieres August 17th 2022 exclusively on Disney+.
