The first issue of the latest Marvel Universe comic book features the God of Thunder repping the Viking Metal masters.

Last week, Marvel debuted their 'Heroes Reborn' comic book series with the first issue. Metal fans were excited to see an interesting detail on the cover of the issue featuring the God of Thunder, Thor.

The hammer-wielding superhero was wearing an Amon Amarth shirt. The band themselves took to their social media to share their excitement from the unexpected tip of the hat.

Marvel's synopsis of the 'Heroes Reborn' series reads, "A WORLD WITHOUT AVENGERS! Welcome to a world where Tony Stark never built an Iron Man armor. Where Thor is a hard-drinking atheist who despises hammers. Where Wakanda is dismissed as a myth. And where Captain America was never found in the ice because there were no Avengers to find him. Instead this world has always been protected by Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Squadron Supreme of America. And now the Squadron faces an attack from some of their fiercest enemies, like Dr. Juggernaut, the Black Skull, the Silver Witch and Thanos with his Infinity Rings. But why is the Daywalker Blade the one man alive who seems to remember that the entire world has somehow been…reborn?"

'Heroes Reborn' was written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Ed McGuinness. The first issue features eight cover variants and features cover art from Leinil Francis Yu. View all of the variants - HERE

In related Amon Amarth news, the band's 1998 debut "Once Sent From the Golden Hall' has been selected as the latest installment of the Gimme Metal Vinyl Club. The limited edition color variant drops next month and closes out it's subscription orders later this month. Get the information - HERE
