Metallica team with The Coda Collection to stream 40th anniversary hometown performances

Taking over the Amazon Music and Prime Video Channels, Metallica will give fans across the globe to strea, their December 17th and 19th concerts and watch films featured as part of the SF Takeover Film Fest.

In what has become a powerful punctuation of the band's 40th anniversary celebration, Metallica has partnered with The Coda Collection and streaming giant Amazon Prime Video to give fans globally the opportunity to share in the year-ending festivities.

Announcing their San Francisco takeover recently complete with a film festival, appearances, whiskey tastings and two concerts at Chase Center, Metallica reserved all in-person tickets for the concerts exclusively to members of the group’s Fifth Member fan club. To ensure no one misses the celebration, Metallica will now be streaming both performances via Amazon Prime Video for fans across the world.

Fans can tune in via Amazon Music, Amazon Music's Twitch channel, and Prime Video (with or without Prime on-demand Membership) beginning at 9pm PT /12am ET / 5am GMT / 2pm JST each night. The shows will then be made available exclusively at The Coda Collection/Prime Video Channel to be viewed after the initial broadcast.

In addition, the programming from The Coda Collection and Metallica will include the films that are being featured for the SF Film Festival coinciding with the Metallica anniversary festivities. Fans will also be able to watch the films “Cunning Stunts” and “Orgullo, Pasión, y Gloria: Tres Noches en la Ciudad de México” via the Coda Collection/ Prime Video Channel for anniversary weekend.

With the partnership between The Coda Collection and Metallica stretching into 2022, the Film Festival features and live concert streaming commence a lengthy stretch of programming that will include a full slate of concert films, documentaries, and original content with a comprehensive focus on the band's career and impact. The channel will program these features in tandem with music films from the likes of Foo Fighters, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, and many more.

Lastly, “The Metallica Takeover,” via Amazon Music will feature specially curated soundtrack featuring Metallica most enduring cuts, interspersed with features that showcase the band themselves sharing important moments from their unparalleled career. The Metallica Takeover will be available exclusively to Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers and Prime members.

Fans can hear The Metallica Takeover now on Amazon Music, by simply asking "Alexa, play The Metallica Takeover" in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android, and on Alexa-enabled devices.
