Streaming giant Netflix has offered a glimpse into their next true crime documentary series with the official trailer for Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer.
The four part series is helmed by director Tiller Russell and chronicles the sweltering Los Angeles summer of 1985 and Richard Ramirez's reign of terror. Leaving the greater Los Angeles-area paralyzed in fear, the indiscriminate nature of Ramirez's crimes not only baffled law enforcement but prompted the entirety of Southern California to sleep with one eye open.
The series utilizes archival footage, era-specific photography, new reenactments and first-person accounts to recount the Night Stalker's run of depravity that included victims that ranged from children to senior citizens.
The series' official deception reads, “Racing against the clock to stop this nocturnal monster were a young detective named Gil Carrillo from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the legendary homicide investigator Frank Salerno.”
