The Disney Plus series will be Samuel L. Jackson's first-ever reoccurring television role.

Variety is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson will resume his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. skipper Nick Fury in a Marvel spinoff series for Disney Plus.

Marvel Studios will produce the show with Kyle Bradstreet attached to write and function as the series' executive producer.

The confirmation is the latest in a succession of shows getting the green light from Marvel Studios. "Wandavision" is slated for a 2020 release along with "The Falcon and Winter Soldier" as well as "Loki" both scheduled for a 2021 release.

Though the details of the Fury spinoff are still some time off, having Jackson in the role on the small screen is a huge coup. Despite Jackson's iconic film career, this will be his very first reoccurring role in a television series.

Jackson first appeared as Nick Fury in 2008's Iron Man. In the subsequent years, Jackson has made appearances in several of the MCU films include the Avengers franchise, The Captain America films, and most recently, the Captain Marvel and Spider Man: Far From Home titles.
