A&E's "Biography" series will chronicle the life and career of Ozzy Osbourne for their latest installment, Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.
The 2020 SXSW Film Festival selection travels back to Ozzy's childhood. Growing up in poverty and eventually going to prison, the film details the iconic frontman's rise in the ranks from Black Sabbath to his own successful solo career.
The film features interviews with a collection of friends, family, and collaborators ranging from, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne as well as Rick Rubin, Ice-T, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Jonathan Davis, Post Malone and more.
Encompassing Ozzy's successes and shortcomings, the documentary offers a candid portrait of the now 70 year old rock pioneer. With never-before-seen interviews and archival video and photography, the story of Ozzy is told in great depth.
The preview footage of the film recounts a watershed moment in Ozzy's unparalleled career. Finding himself being passed on for big festival plays and being written off as uncool, rock nostalgia, Sharon and Ozzy stopped discussing festival appearances and began to create their own. The Ozzfest would go on to become a fixture in the world of rock music culture.
