Though Rob Zombie is still in the thick of promotion for his most recent heavy rock triumph in his seventh studio album, 'The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy', there is continued speculation that the multi-talented visionary will be directing a film adaptation of the beloved television series, 'The Munsters'.
The rumored project was initially reported via Murphy's Multiverse and now multiple outlets are reporting that the project is moving ahead and though details are still yet to be confirmed, there are some specifics to report. According to Bloody Disgusting, the interpretation will follow the HBO Max/Warner Bros model in that it will premiere in theaters and on the NBC streaming platform Peacock simultaneously.
In terms of the current casting forecast, Zombie has enlisted his better half in Sheri Moon Zombie to play Lily Munster, with Jeff Daniel Phillips to play the iconic Herman Munster. Rounding out the current casting projections, Richard Brake, Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, and Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira, will comprise the ensemble cast.
Initial reports have Rob Zombie not only directing the project, but also penning the script. Zombie's last film project was 2019's 3 From Hell, the completion of the 'Firefly' trilogy that closed out the saga that began with Zombie's seminal House of 1000 Corpses and continued with his 2005 follow-up in The Devil’s Rejects.
