Back in May, David Arquette incited some heavy excitement among horror flick fans when he confided that he would be back for the 5 installment of the Scream film franchise.

Reprising his role as Sheriff Dewey Riley, it looks as though Arquette will have some company from another original cast member. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Courtney Cox will be back in her role as Gale Weathers.

While details of the cast are still preliminary, it looks as though the aim to to capture of that initial magic from the first portion of the series. It's rumored that Neve Campbell is in talks to come back and the film has confirmed the writer of the series, Kevin Williamson, as the executive producer of the latest production.

Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett along are set to direct the film. The dup are 2/3rd the Radio Silence collective responsible for breakout horror hits like, Ready Or Not.

Production is set to begin in Wilmington, North Carolina with additional casting for the film expected to reveal more details.
