One of the first films slated to hit theaters and HBO Max from Warner Bros. in 2021 brings together three Oscar-winning lead men and offers an auspicious start to the cinematic year.

Last month, Warner Bros dropped a bombshell and announced that they would take their entire slate of 2021 releases and premiere them both theatrically and on HBO Max simultaneously.

Since the announcement, the reaction has been a mixed bag, with fans expressing adulation that box office blockbusters will be available to stream. The flip side has seen directors and talent expressing everything from disappointment to outright anger with the decision by the studios to move in such an unconventional direction.

One of the first films set to be released in the experiment is the psychological serial killer thriller starring not one, but three Academy-Award winning lead men. The John Lee Hancock-penned and directed, The Little Things, showcases an acting tour de force with the trio of Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and an especially eerie, Jared Leto.

Warner Bros. recently released the trailer for the film which details Washington's character Sheriff Joe "Deke" Deacon and Malek as L.A. Sheriff Department Sergeant Jim Baxter as a duo of investigators looking to find a killer terrorizing Los Angeles.

What becomes evident in the 2-minute glimpse is that Washington plays a passionate, albeit traumatized figure, with both he and Malek's character becoming immersed in the hunt. The trailer also reveals an absolutely haunting antagonist in Jared Leto, who becomes the focus of the investigation.

The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters and on HBO Max on January 29, 2021. Watch the trailer below.
