In a landmark first for one of heavy culture's most iconic traveling productions, the Slipknot-helmed Knotfest will take over Turku for the inaugural Knotfest Finland.
Enlisting revered Finnish countrymen and international symphonic metal heroes Nightwish for the two-day event, the festival which was initially scheduled for august of 2021 has assembled a global whose who among the various sub-communities within heavy music.
Among the names anchoring the Knotfest Finland bill include UK metalcore juggernaut Bring Me The Horizon and Sweden's purveyors of shred in Arch Enemy. Also enlisting the flag bearers of the Finnish contingent, the Friday festivities will feature a performance from the pride of Nordic thrash metal in Stam1na. The Saturday installment with include a performance from Eurovision 2021's international sensation in Finland's Blind Channel.
The two-day Knotfest event evolved from a Slipknot headlining play initially scheduled to take place in Turku in August 2021. In the wake of ongoing restrictions with regards to international travel during the era of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the gig was postponed to August 2022 and ultimately evolved into a complete Knotfest experience.
Tickets purchased to the original Slipknot show will be valid for Knotfest on Saturday without any additional upgrades or changes. The original tickets can also be upgraded to a two-day Knotfest ticket, and the upgrade will be offered without any extra service fees until 21st of November. After that an upgrade service fee of 15€ per order will be charged.
