The world is just weeks away from the latest addition to the 'Saw' horror film franchise and this installment features the superstar power of comedian Chris Rock and silver screen veteran Samuel L. Jackson.
The injection of Hollywood heavyweight power has revitalized the profile of the psychological horror saga in a way that appeases the series' most ardent fans while appealing to a whole new crop of fans that are now especially intrigued.
The May 14th debut recently received a brand new poster and it's first official television commercial, adding to the hype of the film during a time when the move industry could really use a bonafide winner. Spiral is produced by the original Saw team of Mark Burg and Oren Koules. Director Darren Lynn Bousman, who also directed the third and fourth installments of the franchise returns for the latest addition and has linked with writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger to ensure the script meets the mark.
The film's synopsis reads, "A criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game."
