The inaugural Slay At Home music and arts festival took place back in May. The two-day, streaming event featured music and contributions from the likes of Suicide Silence, Tesseract, Silvertomb, Darkest Hour, Angel Vivaldi, Khemmis, Spotlights, and Allegaeon among others.
Curated by Metal Injection's Frank Godla, the digital gathering not only proved a thorough success, but also served a greater good in collecting donations for the charities, Global Giving and MusiCares
Capitalizing off the success of the event, Godla has announced that the Slay At Home stream will continue as a monthly series, smaller in scale, with an emphasis on spotlighting emerging artists in rock and metal.
'I’m happy to announce after the overwhelming success of ‘Slay at Home’ I’m bringing it back monthly in smaller doses, as a place to discover cool new bands alongside big names, in support of a different charity each month,” says Godla.
The first event in the monthly series is set for September 25th and will feature performances by The Ocean & Jonas Renkse of Katatonia, Green Carnation, Bear, Psychonaut, Saver, and Arabrot, and will feature collaborations with members of Mastodon, Revocation, Aborted, Dethklok, Gargoyl, Warbringer, Atheist, Carnation, Enterprise Earth, and Traitors.
The September installment of the series will collect donations benefitting the National Alliance on Mental Illness in their ongoing efforts and community outreach.
Slay At Home begins at 3pm EST on September 25th and will be broadcast on the Metal Injection Youtube Channel.
