At the end of the second season of the streaming Star Wars smash hit The Mandalorian, Disney+ began teasing a spin-off from the series in The Book of Boba Fett. The highly-anticipated series is now very real as there is an official poster and an arrival date of when the series will begin.
The series which stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen and boasts an executive production collective responsible for the Mandalorian's meteoric success in Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Also included on team are Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serving as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian functioning as co-producer.
In addition to their role as executive producer, Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni will also direct select episodes of the series as well as Bryce Dallas Howard.
In revealing some of the first official art from the series, Disney+ also shared that the streaming sensation will begin December 29th via the popular platform. A brief synopsis of the series explains the storyline, "finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.”
