Warner Bros. has released an in-depth documentary that examines the origination, development, and eventual success of the Dark Knight trilogy from famed director Christopher Nolan.

Featuring never-before-seen footage and "rare moments" on film, The Fire Rises: The Creation and Impact of The Dark Knight examines how 2005’s Batman Begins, 2008’s The Dark Knight and 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises would transform the culture of cinema in becoming the trilogy that made the superhero movie a viable category of cinema.

The documentary film includes interview footage with the likes of Guillermo Del Toro, Damon Lindelof, Michael Mann, Richard Roeper and Zack Snyder to really reiterate the credibility of the trilogy from a directorial standpoint. There is also extensive commentary from production crew that detail the immersive process of creating a new Gotham City that translated as much more realistic than any previous incarnation of the story ever had.
