What began as a way to connect with the live music experience at the onset of the pandemic has become a weekly tradition. In the last 22 weeks, every Monday has galvanized metal fans the world over as people from all corners of the globe can gather around screen and experience historic moments from Metallica's archive of performances.
The series ends tonight by reliving the band's colossal performance at Mexico City's For Sol back in 2017. As always, fans will have the chance to donate to the band's charity organization, All Within My Hands.
Since late March, Metallica's mission of restoring some sense of normalcy with some kind of live music experience has product a trove of digital content that would pique the interest of even the casual fan. Among the particularly special moments included Metallica's Big 4 concert at Yankee Stadium in 2011, the 1989 Irvine, CA performance from the Damaged Justice Tour that was captured on Lars' own personal camcorder, and an unbelievably intimate experience from 2016 at the House of Vans in London.
The complete archive of #MetallicaMonday shows can be viewed on the band's Youtube page. The finale of the #MetallicaMonday series begins at 5pm PT / 8pm ET.
