The first horror film from the Marvel Universe is moving ahead with it's scheduled release date.

Twentieth Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment is doubling down on the theatrical release of what should have been one of the summer's biggest box office draws.

Unveiling the IMAX promotional poster, everything is still firmly in place for an August 28th release of The New Mutants. The film is first horror film derived from the iconic X-Men series from the Marvel Universe.

The film follows Mirage (Blu Hunt), who creates illusions from other people’s fears. Rahne Sinclair (Maisie Williams), who transforms into the werewolf Wolfsbane. Sam Guthrie (Charlie Heaton), better known as Cannonball, who can fly at light speed and boasts a protective force field. There's Sunspot (Henry Zaga), who channels solar power. Lastly, Illyana Rasputin aka Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy) is younger sister of Colossus. Like her brother, Magik becomes encased in armor.

The film has experienced significant delays (The film was initially set to be released in the spring of 2018) and uncertainty, compounded by the ongoing pandemic and its continued decimation of the film industry. The profile of the film makes it one of the more anticipated titles of the season and from what it looks like, August 28th is a go.
