The new Netflix film 'I'm Thinking Of Ending Things' is seriously disturbing

Charlie Kaufman takes his brand of trippy to uneasy levels.

If ever there was a genre that writer/director Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) could successfully tap into, horror is it.

The latest trailer for the Netflix feature, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, is the kind of intriguing visual that conjures chills in a very realistic way.

Based on the book by Iain Reid, the story follows a young woman who is at a crossroads with her somewhat new boyfriend. Though she is close to calling it quits already, she travels with the boyfriend (played by 'Meth Damon' of Breaking Bad, Jesse Plemons) to meet his parents.

From there, reality becomes a complete cluster as a serious of creepy interactions, added to the anxiety of being stuck in a snowstorm, transform this romantic drama into a complete mindfuck.

The film begins streaming on Netflix on September 4th but in the meantime, watch this gnarly trailer.
