Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World trilogy will finally come to a close next summer with the release of Jurassic World: Dominion. The revival of the Spielberg classic Jurassic Park franchise has been met with massive box office cash and legions of new fans. Following the events of Fallen Kingdom, the new film will see humanity now facing a reality where dinosaurs now exist on the mainland. Universal has just released the full trailer for the summer blockbuster.
A five minute prologue to Dominion was released in theaters and online last year. The new film will bring back the new trilogy cast like Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, and Omar Sy, but it will also feature the original cast of the original film: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and BD Wong.
Trevorrow stated, “Ellie and Grant and Malcolm are on this full adventure, they’re a huge part of it, and equal partners to Owen and Claire and Maisie and our new characters we’ve brought in. The challenge of a movie like that is to give every character their due, to honor everybody."
Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures. Jurassic World: Dominion, from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, propels the more than $5 billion franchise into daring, uncharted territory, featuring never-seen dinosaurs, breakneck action and astonishing new visual effects.
The film features new cast members DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It), Emmy nominee Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Scott Haze (Minari) and Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man 2). The screenplay is by Emily Carmichael (Battle at Big Rock) & Colin Trevorrow from a story by Derek Connolly & Trevorrow, based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The film is produced by acclaimed franchise producers Frank Marshall p.g.a. and Patrick Crowley p.g.a. and is executive produced by legendary, Oscar®-winning franchise creator Steven Spielberg, Alexandra Derbyshire and Colin Trevorrow.
