The Netflix feature from director Zack Snyder in Army of the Dead revealed its first teaser trailer and the film that has been nearly to decades in the making seems to be very worth the wait.
Snyder, who's zombie resume includes the 2004 cult classic in Dawn of the Dawn, has married the timeless heist film with the allure of the undead in his most recent take on the subgenre favorite. The excitement involving the film has swell such that the movie hasn't even premiered yet and already there is a live-action prequel in the works as well as an animated prequel supplement.
The film's ensemble cast features the likes of Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo, Huma Qureshi, Samantha Win, Richard Cetrone and Michael Cassidy in a dystopian version of Las Vegas that has been completely overrun with zombies.
The caveat to this vision to the traditional zombie flick however comes as Baustista's character leads a group of highly-skilled mercenaries into the horde of the undead to attempt a Vegas heist that will be the score of a lifetime.
The first minute of collected footage from the production showcases plenty of violence, zombies marching through casinos, explosions, action-flick one-liners and even a Zombie Elvis because... Vegas.
Army of the Dead begins streaming via Netflix on May 21st. Watch the trailer below.
