There's something special about those few hours between breakfast and lunch. Picture this, it’s a beautiful Sunday morning, you’re sitting outside with a good group of friends, a carafe of orange juice sits next to a perspiring bottle of champagne. Is it too early for a cocktail? Maybe, but what about a mimosa? It does have orange juice in it and it pairs well with a plate of Belgian Waffles. If that scenario sounds enticing then this month’s Fierce Bites menu is for you. This month we will featuring some of the best brunch spots from around the country
NASHVILLE, TN - PLAYDATE
Playdate offers everything you want from a good brunch spot: ample outdoor seating, a boozy brunch menu, and an adult-sized slide because why not? As for the drinks, they offer a drunken slushy, espresso martini, and a bevy of mimosas and cocktails.
While investigating the menu, our eyes couldn’t stay away from the chicken and waffle slider. These delectable sliders sandwich a beautiful piece of fried chicken, chopped Applewood Bacon, a healthy drizzle of Bourbon Maple Syrup, in toasted pearl sugar waffles.
CHICAGO, IL - AMERICANO
The Americano, found inside of the Hotel Lincoln, is new to Chicago’s already rich culinary world. Enjoy their 90 minute all-you-can-drink window under their covered patio while you enjoy the sights and sounds as you overlook Lincoln Park. For an hour and a half, you can sip on a combination of mimosas, sangria, seltzer and rosé for $30. This beautiful space is very pet friendly, they welcome pups with water and treats. While your doggo is chowing down on treats, their brunch menu has classic offerings for us humans.
Some folks don’t know how to appreciate a good avocado toast. Well my friends, this is one of those we should all appreciate. They take a gorgeous slice of sourdough bread and stack it high with cherry tomatoes, feta cheese crumbles, crispy prosciutto, and a poached egg.
PHILADELPHIA, PA - SIN
If you’re into the club scene, Sin hosts an indoor day party of a brunch. A live DJ pumps current hits making your brunch a more lively experience. The Sin brunch menu includes players like massive seafood towers, carbonara benedict, limoncello bread pudding french toast, and so much more.
Speaking of limoncello bread pudding french toast, this beautiful dish is a fan favorite. This french toast is soaked in limoncello anglaise and topped with fresh berries, a generous dusting of powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup.
LOS ANGELES, CA - LITTLE DOM’S
LIttle Dom’s is located in the very popular, especially among LA foodies, neighborhood of Los Feliz. The clubby Italian restaurant has built a strong brunch following on because of their stacked menu. Offerings like their fluffy, blueberry-studded Ricotta pancakes, breakfast pizza topped with speck, wood oven-roasted eggs with sourdough toast, and even a meatball sandwich.
The ricotta pancakes seem to be the talk of the town but we gravitated to their breakfast pizza. Los Angeles has become a major pizza city so a breakfast offering is very necessary. The wood oven baked pizza is topped with a sunnyside-up egg, speck, mozzarella, and tomato sauce
ATLANTA, GA - BREAKFAST AT BARNEY’S
Breakfast At Barney’s, located at the intersection of Decatur and Hill streets, is one of the stars of Atlanta’s Black brunch scene. With a space as beautiful as their dishes, you enter through a floral archway into the posh restaurant accented by teal and gold accents and black and white patterned walls. The hour long wait to experience Breakfast at Barney’s is doesn’t seem to bother anyone. Once your inside you seem to forget you even waited in line.
The upscale-meets-fun flair translates to their dishes, with signature items like the soul rolls; eggrolls stuffed with greens, candied yams, and macaroni and cheese. For a splurge, there’s the $1,000 Mansa Musa tower. A decadent combination of their 24-karat gold pancakes, yard bird platter, fried lobster and grits, a bottle of premium champagne, and a bottle of Armand De Brignac "Ace Of Spades".
