Steel City metalcore collective 156/Silence have set a September 4th release date for their Pure Noise Records full length debut, From A Distance. The band's sixth studio album follows the acclaim of their 2024 release, People Watching, and reiterates the band's rising stock as one of the genre's most promising prospects.

Working with producer Josh Schroeder (King 810, Lorna Shore, The Plot In You), the album builds on the momentum generated last year, as 156/Silence confirmed their alignment with a new label and offered a stirring tribute to departed bassist Lukas Booker with the standalone single, "Our Parting Ways".

Guitarist and primary songwriter Jimmy Howell explains how the album takes fundamental source material as a way to showcase their evolved brand of sonic volatility.

“I look toward bands we love that grew with their listeners, like Thrice and Bring Me The Horizon,” Howell shared of the band's progression. “They have a sound, but they grow and change. Some bands are comfortable repeating the same thing again. I don’t want to do that. I want to make you feel the way you do when you hear one of those important bands, without sounding like them.”

Along with the requisite aggression that has made 156/Silence such a celebrated unit, From A Distance finds the band building on the sonic expansion of People Watching to make for their most complete offering yet. With narrative that references the Resident Evil franchise and the stylized noir of Twin Peaks, the scope of 156/Silence is as ambitious as their sound.

The album also touts a stellar roster of supporting appearances with the likes of Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Alex Reade of Make Them Suffer and Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism each submitting their contribution.

Unveiling the lead single from the project, "No Arms" offers a glimpse of the metalcore contemporaries plan of action for album six. With ominous synth segueing into a groove heavy hostility, the track is an emotionally charged entry that explores personal vulnerability.

"'No Arms' is about being without a way to protect yourself and what belongs to you. Being alone andafraid, not having any means to control the situations that befall on us. The overwhelming feeling of beinghelpless until we’re not. Until somebody saves us."

En route to the September release of From A Distance, 156/Silence continue to put in the work on the road. The band is currently out with Thornhill and Fox Lake on the Merica US. Tour. The band will then take on their own headlining dates with an appearance at Inkcarceration set for this July.

Later this summer, 156/Silence will join Chiodos on the It's Not You, It's Me tour with sace6 and Calva Lousie along with a confirmed date at Louder Than Life Festival September. A current list of dates and cities can be found below.
