Riding high on the recent release of their highest-charting single in five years with "You're Gonna Get It", 311 have announced plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their sophomore full length album, Grassroots.
The expanded anniversary edition of Grassroots will feature the fourteen tracks original album tracks newly remastered from the original tapes by the band’s longtime engineer Joe Gastwirt - plus five bonus tracks of pre-production demos. The album will be made available on vinyl for the first time ever.
The physical release will include limited edition colorway vinyl and new Pearlized album art - designed with the collector and ultimate fan in mind.
“This is the 2nd installment of the Pearlized album art series celebrating the 30th Anniversary of our album Grassroots,” explained drummer Chad Sexton of the news. “Grassroots was our sophomore record released in 1994. The recording process had its fair share of setbacks and problems but we persevered and put out an eclectic blend of Rock, Rap, Fusion, Jazz, Funk and Reggae. These were some memorable times and we are happy and proud to put out this new version mastered by Joe Gastwirt with extra tracks never released on vinyl before. We hope you enjoy from top to bottom!”
The 30th anniversary edition of Grassroots from 311 is due out August 23rd. The release arrives as 311 embarks on their Unity Tour with special guests AWOLNATION and Neon Trees. The run kicks off next week in Cincinnati, OH on July 20th and closes out in Redmond, WA on August 31st. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below. Get tickets - HERE
