Lauded songstress A.A. Williams has debuted a compelling new single, sharing the stand alone single, 'Splinter". The track serves as the first offering of new music on the year and marks the initial unveiling of her next chapter following the acclaim of 2022's As The Moon Rests.
In addition, Williams' latest showcase heralds news of yet another pivotal appearance for the London-based creative. Along with the arrival of "Splinter", A.A. Williams has been confirmed to perform at Europe's largest indoor metal festival. Williams is confirmed to join the likes of Cradle of Filth, NAILS, Russian Circles and many more for this year's Damnation Festival in Manchester on November 2nd.
The track also lands as Williams is set to embark on her own headlining run of the US. The stretch of dates position the post-rock/doom songstress as headliners - following the triumph of their U.S. tour supporting Sleep Token in 2023.
Speaking to the thematic weight of the latest single, Williams offered some creative insight and detailed her intentions as she gears up for a length run of live dates.
“We so often avoid looking inwards, distracting ourselves with temporary fixes, concerning ourselves with effect not cause. We smooth over the surface, burying complexities and ignoring our emotions until one day we burst, we snap, we break apart. Splinter is a song of realisation, of recognising that things have gone too far, of seeing that we finally need to acknowledge how we feel in order to grow.”
“I wanted to put out a new song ahead of my US tour, and my friends at Robot Needs Home kindly agreed to release Splinter with me as a one-off. It always feels good to launch new music but this particular song really means a lot, and I look forward to finally bringing it to life at my upcoming shows.”
