Powerhouse vocalist and heavy music outlier A.A. Williams has delivered another stunning entry from her pending full length, Solstice, arriving June 5th via Reigning Phoenix Music. Following the accumulated acclaim with her succession of singles in "Just A Shadow," "Wolves" and the emotionally-stirring "Hold It Together," Williams' latest is another example of her consuming brand of sturdy-built beauty.
On "Poison," Williams again combines delicate, ethereal vocals with lush melodies all leading into a towering crescendo that reiterates the enormity of her sound. Confronting the tropes of doom and post rock, the end result is magnificent in style and execution.
Williams explained that "Poison" is "...a song of learning not to fear freedom. Restraints slowly melt away, you push yourself, you long for more. Recklessness begins to consume reason, limitations are forgotten, euphoria and self-sabotage look like one and the same. Desperate to satisfy the craving you torch everything you’ve built. As the old world crumbles, and you rise, unafraid."
In support the release of Solstice, Williams has confirmed a slate of festival season appearances in addition to a handful of dates supporting A Perfect Circle. Among the featured performances, A.A. Williams will make stops at Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic as well as ArcTanGent Festival in Bristol this year. A current list of confirmed dates can be found below.
