A Day to Remember Release Full Length Surprise, 'Big Ole Album Vol. 1'

- By Ramon Gonzales -->

The unconventional rollout gives precedes the band's Australian takeover and gives fans the chance to secure a physical copy before the wide digital release scheduled for next month.

Just days ahead of the band's arrival in the land down under as part of the Knotfest Australia 2025 festivities, A Day To Remember has pulled a fast one and released a new album making for one helluva surprise.

Big Ole Album Vol. 1 is the first part of an ambitious double album effort. Opting to go unconventional with the rollout, rather than deliver the digital release first with the physical version to follow, fans will be able to order the album today (February 18th) and have an actual copy of the release in hand as soon as February 21st.

Speaking with NME, frontman Jeremy McKinnon explained how the planned surprise release actually began to take shape when the band announced their 2024 The Least Anticipated Album touring slate. “People can’t stream it yet, so we have this surprise, secret album which leans into our last tour name, because people had no idea what we’re doing and what’s coming.”

McKinnon further justified the curveball by explaining how the move was about adjusting to how people consume their music now and keeping up with the demand. “These days, people just are used to getting their content right when they hear about it. It felt like it would be more exciting to say nothing and be like, ‘There it is!’ There’s no slow [rollout] – what better way to get people’s attention? ‘Here’s the pre-order. By the way, it’s going to show up at your house in three days.’”

Among the personnel at the helm of the project, A Day to Remember linked with Drew Fulk (Knocked Loose, Lil Wayne), Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Blink-182) and their own Jeremy McKinnon to oversee the completion of the album. Among the contributors featured on the record, ADTR enlisted Linkin Park drummer Colin Brittain, Cody Quistad of Wage War and multi-talent Will Putney of Fit For An Autopsy and Better Lovers for submissions on the final product.

Along with the announcement of the album, the band is set to unleash a pair of new singles with “Make It Make Sense” and “LeBron” both of which are set to premiere at12:00pm PST (February 18th). Additionally, ADTR has published a lengthy list of record store locations that will be hosting Big Ole Album Vol. 1 listening parties to celebrate the release of the new music.
