Regarded as one of rock music's most compelling and celebrated units, A Perfect Circle is eet to celebrate the silver anniversary of their seminal debut album, Mer De Noms. The 2000 full length introduction became the highest-charting debut album from a rock band ever, surpassing expectation and landing at #4 on the Billboard Top 200. Propelled by the resounding success of singles like "Judith" and "3 Libras," the album has since become a classic and definitive of the era.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the album, A Perfect Circle are releasing two limited-edition releases with a 2LP zoetrope vinyl edition and an audiophile One-Step pressing - part of the Definitive Sound Series (DSS). Emphasizing the band's forward-thinking imagery and immersive sound, the release is an essential addition for fans of the band and the timeless record.
The 2LP zoetrope edition features four unique animations – one on each side of the vinyl. The visuals include the album’s distinctive imagery, looks from the band’s original photo session featuring the line-up of Keenan, Howerdel, Josh Freese, Paz Lenchantin, and Troy Van Leeuwen, clips from the David Fincher-directed “Judith” video, and a a bold display of the band’s unmistakable logo.
Mer de Noms One-Step pressing in the Definitive Sound Series (DSS) was pressed at RTI and mastered by Levi Seltz (Metallica, Green Day). Using technology, this edition preserves the integrity of the recordings while adding depth and detail for an immersive listening experience. The release was limited to just 3,000 hand-numbered copies.
Pre-orders are now available for both editions via Virgin Records/Ume releases: The zoetrope vinyl edition arrives September 25th with the One-Step DDS edition landing October 10th.
