Viking metal overlords Amon Amarth have joined forced with publishing specialists Z2 Comics to bring to life the epic narrative of their celebrated 2022 album, The Great Heathen Army, in the form a brilliantly constructed graphic novel. 

Written by Dan Watters (Lucifer, Arkham City) and illustrated by Ario Murti, The Great Heathen Army recounts the brutal 9th Century siege of Great Britain by Scandinavian vikings. With visceral depictions of primal battle scenes and the a harrowing account of the toll of humanity suffered on both sides, The Great Heathen Army captures the savagery of war and the cost of conquest. 

Along with the introduction of the latest iteration of The Great Heathen Army, Z2 and Amon Amarth received a unique endorsement in the form a foreword from none other than famed wrestler and actor, Adam "Edge" Copeland. Offering his testament to Amon Amarth, calling the band's music "defiant" and transportive in channeling the sounds of Valhalla, Copeland also credited the band with being the soundtrack to his long sessions in the gym. 

Paired with the introduction of the overarching epic that is The Great Heathen Army, Amon Amarth and Z2 Comics have also unveiled the The Great Heathen Army role playing board game. With a flawless design from Tom Thiel, the game offers an interactive component to the 9th century battle epic stooryline, giving fans the opportunity to strategize and implement their method of warfare. 

The Great Heathen Army graphic novel comes in hardcover version as well as several bundle variations that include a series limited edition Amon Amarth prints, Silver Pennigar Viking Collector's Coin, even a signed version of the release as well as the board game.
