A jewel among contemporary progressive rock circles for his multi-instrumental approach to innovation, Ando San has become the latest addition to the Sumerian Records family. Blurring the divide between meticulous math-leaning prog and bass-heavy, punchline potent hip-hop, Ando San has begin his campaign on Sumerian with the release of the tandem single, "Hype Man" and "Triggas". 

Asserting technical prowess in composition and style points, Ando San combines instrumental heft with lyrical fluidity - amounting to an impressive initial outing to usher in the new partnership. Speaking of the signing, Ando San shared,  “I am incredibly stoked to be a part of the Sumerian family. This is a huge moment for me, I have been a fan of this label since I was 15/16 years old and it's honestly insane to say that I am now signed by them. It's been a long time coming and this is only the beginning. I’m bringing the heat.”

Revealing his source material, Ando San explained how Norwegian black metal legends helped to shape a promising example of progressive hip hop. “Honestly, when I was writing ‘Hype Man’ I was incredibly inspired by Darkthrone. Specifically the guitar riffs from their record ‘Ravishing Grimness’. It’s a really dope album and one of my favourites from Darkthrone. I thought it would be cool to start the song with a black metal vibe and then lead into a heavy beat. I named it ‘Hype Man’ because at the time of recording the song I needed to hype myself up. I’m usually alone in my room making these songs and this one in particular needed that energy! I feel like you need to be your own personal Hype Man to get through things when you really don’t have anybody around to pump you up. It’s a super power!”

The arrival of "Hype Man" and "Triggas" for Ando San continues a breakout year which has included his standout feature "Hate Figure," featured on PRESIDENT's debut LP, Blood Of Your Empire. Riding serious momentum, Ando San will trek to the UK for the first time later this month for a run of headlining dates and a stretch of supporting dates under Don Broco.
