Following a healthy tenure on Roadrunner Records, Angel Du$t announced earlier this summer they had signed with Run for Cover. Making the union official, the Justice Tripp-lead project churned out their first release with the label with the 7" arrival of The Beat.
Also featuring the b-side in "The Knife", the release also boasted a vinyl-only track with a cover of Bugg’s “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” aided by Scott Vogel of Terror. Signaling a new era for Angel Du$t, news of the first full length via Run for Cover has now been confirmed with the announcement of Cold 2 the Touch. Tapping familiar personnel for the project, Tripp connected with producer Brian McTernan who worked on Angel Du$t's 2014 debut album.
Flanked by new guitarist Jim Carroll of The Suicide File, The Hope Conspiracy and American Nightmare to list a few along with new drummer Nick Lewis, returning guitarist Steve Marino and bassist Zechariah Ghostribe round out the current line-up as the band begin their next chapter.
Speaking previously of the signing to Run for Cover, Tripp shared, "It was just so organic and natural. As long as I’ve been involved with music the RFC people have been friends to me and have been showing me the ropes, but I always kind of thought AD just wasn’t their bag and never thought about asking them about putting out our music. Then when it finally came up it just seemed like the most obvious right fit for us. I just hold them in such a high regard, and stylistically they obviously do a lot of different stuff, but I think it really makes sense: they’re creative, alternative, sometimes heavy–just like Angel Du$t."
Confirming the February 13th arrival of Cold 2 The Touch, Angel Du$t have issued the latest single, revealing the energized title track of the record. Charging guitars and percussion paired with Tripp's vocal lead make for track that is both modern and in line with AD's stylistic signature.
Cold 2 the Touch also features a stellar ensemble cast with contributions from the likes of Scott Vogel of Terror, Wes Eisold of American Nightmare, Patrick Cozens of Restraining Order as well as Frank Carter and Taylor Young of Twitching Tongues, Deadbody, God’s Hate and more. Speaking to the direction of Angel Du$t and the forecast of the new record, Tripp explained, "The band has always been about me funneling other elements coming in from other people–I make a lot of music based on where I feel like the collective consciousness is going. I think this is the most collaborative Angel Du$t record.”
Ahead of the February 2026 release of Cold 2 The Touch Angel Du$t will be out on tour with Narrow Head as well as festival stops on Warped Tour and more. See the list of confirmed dates below.
