Metalcore heavyweights Architects have announced their highly-anticipated follow up to their 2022 LP, the classic symptoms of a broken spirit. Set for a February 28th release date via Epitaph Records, The Sky, The Earth & All Between marks the band's lauded return, propelled by the initial success of preview singles in last year's "Seeing Red" and the explosive track, "Curse" which arrived earlier this spring.
Along with the news of the first quarter release set to start next year, Architects have offered another serving from the pending full length, debuting their Jordan Fish-produced anthem, "Whiplash". The volatile new track underscores the band's profound balance of articulate aggression and well-executed melody. Combined with Fish's vision and direction, Architects have issued an important statement introducing their next era with this entry.
Drummer Dan Searle explained the significance of the latest single and how it ushers in the next chapter for the band. "Whiplash marks the beginning of a new era for Architects. It is a song that speaks of tribalism, of a deepening chasm that lies between human beings based simply on opinions and beliefs. It gave us the opportunity to explore these concepts in a way that we haven't before and for the first time in a while it gave us fuel to write something truly ferocious”.
Working with director Spector Berlin to craft a visual of comparable scope, Architects understood the importance of delivering a video that complimented the depth of the track. Searle explained how having the right personnel was crucial. “We've long admired Director 'Specter' for his work with Rammstein so it was a pleasure to bring him in for this song to create something for us. His visual concept gave life to the words in a unique way that may create more questions than answers, but sometimes that's the beauty in art."
The announcement of the band's 11th record follows a fruitful year that saw Architects submit highlight showings at keystone festivals including Louder Than Life, AfterShock, Mayhem, Download and a headlining showing at Bloodstock Festival. All this in addition to their select plays supporting Metallica on their M72 World Tour and confirmation of their supporting role on select dates of Linkin Park's From Zero World Tour coming in 2025.
