Rock powerhouse Beartooth have officially commenced their next era with the announcement of the next full length, Pure Ecstasy, arriving August 28th via Fearless Records. First turning the page with the single, 'Free," the anthemic track laid bare frontman Caleb Shomo's earnest brand of songwriting with a single that soared.
Now, the Ohio collective have followed up with a powerful statement of prowess with the title track of their next full length, "Pure Ecstasy." Among the band's more forceful, potent singles, the song underscores Shomo's rock relevance with emphasizes the collaborative nature of Beartooth 2.0.
Shomo spoke to the importance of the single in setting the tone for what's to come. “Song one is always a crucial part of an album to me. It’s gotta lock you into the vibe out of the gate. ‘Pure Ecstasy’ was birthed in a studio with Misha Mansoor, ridiculous loudspeakers, and the dumbest, heaviest chugs we could chug. Once it was brought home and expanded on with Jordan Fish, there was no question it was the album opener. Play loud and kick ass.”
For Shomo, Pure Ecstasy marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the band. Working with Skyler Accord (Issues, Twenty One Pilots, Bilmuri) on initial songwriting session, then aligning with Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Poppy, Architects) to better build out the vision of the album, the follow-up to 2023's The Surface is also Beartooth's most collaborative endeavor. Along with the creative input from Beartooth's live players in bassist Oshie Bichar, guitarists Zach Huston and Will Deely and drummer Connor Denis, Pure Ecstasy achieves a new creative crest, collectively.
