Extreme metal shapeshifters Blood Incantation have announced a special Los Angeles screening of an original short film, The Stargate. A skilled meld of science fiction and otherworldly horror, the film was directed by award-winning cinematographer Michael Ragen and frames the totality of the band's forthcoming full length, Absolute Elsewhere.

Combined with an original score from Blood Incantation as well as analog fluid effects by Chris Parks, the film speaks to the creative prowess of the extreme metal progressives and doubles down on just how ambitious Absolute Elsewhere has been.

The announcement of The Stargate follows last months unveiling of All Gates Open: In Search Of Absolute Elsewhere. The 73-minute documentary frames the band's time in Berlin in the summer of 2023 and their work inside the hallowed walls of the famed, Hansa Studios. Among the legendary albums made their include David Bowie's Heroes, Iggy Pop's Lust for Life and a source of inspiration for Blood Incantation, Tangerine Dream's Force Majeure.

Along with the launch of the doc, Blood Incantation Blood Incantation will release an original soundtrack for the film, All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The release will feature the 2023 single “Luminescent Bridge” on CD for the first time ever. The soundtrack will also include a book publishing exclusive liner notes, interviews and photos from the band. The book will also include a forward by Ross Dolan of Immolation.

Following Blood Incantation's hailed 2022 ambient masterclass in Timewave Zero, Absolute Elsewhere runs an immersive 45 minutes and consists of just two sprawling movements, "The Stargate" and "The Message". Working with revered producer Arthur Rizk, the band retreated to Berlin, Germany to begin work at Hansa Studios. The legendary destination was home to some of the 1970s most definitive prog works from the likes of Tangerine Dream, Eloy and Brian Eno to name a few.

Blood Incantation will host a theatrical screening of The Stargate in Los Angeles at Brain Dead Studios on September 10th. The event will include a Q&A with Blood Incantation and director Michael Ragen, and will be paired for a double feature screening with the 1986 Sci-Fi classic, From Beyond.
